Oak Apple Hunter’s Moon

CH Old Mountain Farm Asha Quinn x Oak Apple Ariana +VVV87 @02-04

We are always super choosy about which bucks we bring in. Since Ayumu is my favorite buck, when we first began rebuilding our herd, I knew I wanted to work with similar genetics in establishing a linebreeding program, so I reached out to Alex and Duva to see if they had anything available. They offered me this special buck, who is linebred on SG Old Mountain Farm Cernunnos ++*B, a buck I have long admired. I was able to see Hunter’s dam Ariana, and she is simply stunning. I’m very excited to have a buck out of her. Hunter is very correct overall. I’m excited to see what he can do for our herd. Hunter is maturing beautifully, and I love him to pieces–he’s just as sweet as my main man, Ayumu, and he’s got great shoulders, a promising rump, a strong back, and lots of balance and dairy character. He’s got it going on!

Hunter is named for the rare Blue Hunter’s Moon that occurred on October 31, 2020, the day of our road trip to Oak Apple Farm. His name commemorates our path forward, and we believe he will be as special as that beautiful moon. Thank you, Duva and Alex!
